FAQs

What You Need To Know

Read the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) below and learn more about the Finding Grace mission and how you can help, or if you still have questions, contact us here.

Why should I donate?

Orphaned and abandoned children don't have parents to take care of them. They don't have access to shelter, food, clothing, health care and education like other children who get these basics from their parents. Your donation takes care of the orphans day-to-day needs and gives them a better life.

Why should I choose Finding Grace?

If you are looking to donate to an organization that is dedicated to solving the orphanage crisis, please consider Finding Grace. It is our mission to help working with orphaned & vulnerable children.

How do I donate?

Go to our Donate page and click the Donate Now button under Help The Orphanage. To become a sponsor, make a $25 per child monthly recurring or $300 per child yearly donation.

How is the sponsorship money spent?

100% of sponsorship dollars go to the support and well being of the orphaned children at House of Mordecai in Chongwe, Zambia.

All our financial transactions are 100% transparent. We are a small organization and we follow all donations every step of the way. This is backed up by a very clear accounting and auditing process that meets US standards for non-profit organizations. If you are a sponsor, we will provide you our annual financial reports, which detail exactly where our funds go, and we are always more than happy to discuss any questions or concerns.

Where is the children's home located?

House of Mordecai Children's Home is located in Chongwe, Zambia, Africa.

What is the difference between Finding Grace & House of Mordecai Children's Home?

House of Mordecai Children's Home is the name of the children's home in Chongwe, Zambia. Finding Grace is the non-profit organization, based in the USA, that exists to assist orphans, widows and vulnerable children in Zambia, Africa.

What is the best type of donation to make?

We’re grateful for any donation you make, no matter how small. You can choose a one-off donation, or choose to sponsor a child – it’s up to you and what you are comfortable with.

You can also have some fun and create a fundraising campaign for us. It’s easy! You can set a campaign goal, see a running total online and then share this with others. We’re here to help with ideas and advice too.

Can I choose a child to sponsor?

As we are a small organization, our policy is to allocate a child to you. We know our wonderful children really well, and we try to match a child to what you hope to get out of your sponsorship experience.

How long does my sponsorship last?

It’s up to you how long you’d like to continue funding. In a perfect world, it would be great to sponsor the child through to adulthood so they can receive the full benefit of our program.

Can I visit my sponsored child?

Yes. We are in the planning stages of a team trip to Zambia for June 2022. If you are interested, please contact us.

How else can I contribute?

Go to the Contact Us page and send us a message. We’ll contact you soon to find an opportunity for you.

Does Finding Grace accept non-monetary donations?

The short answer is “no” because Finding Grace has no place to store donations prior to a trip nor can it guarantee it will have space available to take your in-kind donations.

Is my donation tax deductible?

Yes. Giving to Finding Grace is considered a charitable donation. Finding Grace is registered as a 501 (c)3, non-profit organization.
